Heats & Final
What happens at a live competition - (heat)
Live competitions are events at which competitors compete against each other, in public. The
content of live competitions is set out in the ‘competition brief’ and the ‘marking criteria’ so
that all competitors can know the standards that they will be judged by. In a live competition the
results are publicly announced soon after the competition ends. During heats the highest scoring
competitors across all heats are invited to compete in the UK final.
