About the competition - Web Design
The competition has been designed to reflect the work role of a web designer and the standards
that are expected within the industry. This competition gives competitors an opportunity to work to
a brief and work to a deadline, as would be expected of a professional web designer as well as the
opportunity to demonstrate both their creative and technical skills in a live competition
environment.
Competitors will be expected to design a user-friendly website from conception to
completion.
Entry Levels: Intermediate, Advanced, Higher
Entry Deadline: 19 March 2010
Entry Type: Individual competitors
Competition Type: Mixed
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010.
Stage two: submit completed Website Project by 30th April to Jennie James, 15 Coberley
Close, Downhead Park, Milton Keynes, Bucks MK15 9BJ.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to
compete at the UK final at Middleton Hall, Milton Keynes on the 2nd & 3rd July.
How many can enter?
Four competitors per level per organisation.

Who can enter?
The competition is intended for those working and/or training towards relevant programmes of
study in web design. Competitors can be in education and training or working in industry.
Intermediate: Those undertaking qualifications up to level 2 (for England, Northern Ireland
and Wales), up to level 5 (for Scotland) or up to three years experience in a working environment.
Advanced: Those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 (for England, Northern Ireland and
Wales), up to level 6 (for Scotland) or up to five years experience in a working environment.
Higher: Those undertaking qualifications up to Level 4 (7 in Scotland) or up to
seven years experience in a working environment.
Built Environment

Cultural and Creative Arts
Within the UK, the cultural and creative sector is of great economic and social importance, accounting for over 5% of gross domestic product, and growing at twice the rate of the economy as a whole. The sector covers many careers that directly benefit other sectors because they add a wealth of creative capabilities to other businesses and organisations.
Engineering
