How does the WorldSkills UK Manufacturing Team Challenge competition help get your ready for the world of work? Chris, Jacob and Alex explain!
Alex, Chris and Jacob competed as a team at Abu Dhabi 2017 in manufacturing, representing The UK for WorldSkills. They were looking for apprenticeships as their schools didn’t have much information on this and decided to go to careers fairs and get their parents to help.
They found doing an apprenticeships was the best way to learn on the job, adapting to change and challenges within the workplace. They found WorldSkills UK has changed them personally and helped them to grow. They feel after competing internationally they can pass on their knowledge and help develop and explore new skills. This has helped all three of them to develop their company by having the confidence in taking risks for the better.
