International Skills Summit 5: Growth and Opportunity, May 2024

Our International Skills Summit focused on skills, growth and opportunity, provided international perspectives on key economic and social challenges. We had an exceptional line-up of experts – as well as education and industry partners – who shared their knowledge, experiences, and insights.

Roundtable - Skills for economic growth, Manchester

The first inaugural roundtable was held in Manchester in November 2023, using Greater Manchester as a case study to demonstrate collaboration between government, education and employers to deliver the skills needed for economic growth and create employment opportunities. Siemens, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Great Manchester Colleges Group presented to the group on achieving the ambitions in the Greater Manchester strategy to create a fairer, greener, growing economy, inspiring young people of all backgrounds into technical skills across a range of sectors to secure great future careers and collaborating to deliver opportunities for all young people in Greater Manchester.

Roundtable - How can FE Colleges partner with foreign investors? Delivering on the Harrington Review to increase UK growth.

We hosted a second roundtable event in Westminster, London in March 2024 discussing ‘How can FE Colleges partner with Foreign Investors? Delivering on the Harrington Review to increase UK Growth. The Department for Education, Office for Investment, Amazon, Bridgwater and Taunton College colleagues presented on how to support colleges to deliver the skills needed by Foreign Direct Investment firms, to contribute to economic growth and productivity.
