Team UK members to compete in next global ‘skills Olympics’ will be announced in May
We are excited to announce that the world’s leading learning company Pearson will be the official partner of Team UK for the 47th WorldSkills Competition, taking place in Lyon, France from 10 – 15 September 2024.
This year-long partnership will see us and Pearson work together to boost the prestige of technical and professional education, empowering young people and employers to succeed.
WorldSkills, known as the ‘skills Olympics’, is the largest international skills competition held every two years in cities around the world. The event will see 1500 young people from over 65 counties compete in 62 different technical skill disciplines from engineering, manufacturing and technology through to creative, digital and hospitality in front of an audience of 250,000.
We will work with Pearson to support the UK’s most skilled young people as they compete on the world stage. During the course of the event, we will gather the latest global best practice in skills standards, training and assessment to share with educators, employers and governments back in the UK.
With little over eight months to go until WorldSkills Lyon 2024, the UK’s most talented young apprentices and students are now in training around their work and study, with the aim of being selected to represent the UK. Together with Pearson, we will be announcing the members of Team UK in May.
