Programmes are accessible to all through monthly open access online programmes, or through a tailored training solution for members, delivered at a time to suit your needs.

Successful completion of a CPD programme is recognised through digital credentials, that recognise an educators commitment to professional development.

Competence to Excellence

Delivered as either a full day or in four easy to access modules, this programme introduces the revolutionary WorldSkills UK 7-step model to support educators and learners on their journey to skills excellence.

Through the programme educators will:

  • Define competence and excellence in their area
  • Challenge perceptions and realign learner mindset to excellence
  • Apply changes to standards to achieve marginal gains
  • Investigate national and international influences on skills development
  • Explore feedback methodologies and the impact of performance analysis

Assessment for Excellence

A one-day programme which introduces international training techniques, including the design and delivery of activities including pressure tests, utilising the same methodology as that developed for use at international skills competitions to support learners in developing an essential combination of high-quality technical skills and wider employability skills to achieve excellence.

Through the programme educators will:

  • Explore the benefits of utilising international skills competition methodologies for enhancing learner engagement and performance.
  • Be introduced to the WorldSkills UK approach for designing quality benchmarking activities.
  • Design a mark scheme utilising measurement and judgement marks to provide clear guidance to learners on areas of strength and those in need of development.
  • Examine opportunities to embed benchmarking activities into their current curriculum to aid learner progress.
  • Raise standards through the use of feedback and self evaluation.

Coaching for High Performance

A series of stand-alone modules which provide educators with an introduction into how techniques rooted in competition psychology can be adapted to support learners at all levels.

Covering topics including resilience, stress, motivation and confidence, these programmes provide educators with an insight into how to embed techniques into their delivery, supporting learners to develop their mindset, effectively preparing them for facing and overcoming challenges within education and work.

Through this programme educators will:

  • Gain an understanding of motivation and effective use of goal setting to engage learners.
  • Explore the concept of resilience and to support learners in overcoming adversity and personal challenge.
  • Reappraise learners relationship with stress, reducing the negative impact associated with undertaking challenging situations such as exams and End Point Assessment.
  • Develop an understanding of techniques to support the development of personal confidence in learners.

Technical Skills Masterclasses

Delivered in partnership with international experts and industry leaders, develop cutting edge technical skills knowledge in a range of vocational areas.

Access a range of technical masterclasses in developing sectors, including Additive and Advanced Manufacturing, Generative Design and Industry 4.0, designed to ensure that educators and learners are able to access and implement the latest developments required by industry.

 The programme has opened up a whole new perspective of what ‘tools’ the learners/competitors will need to move from competence to excellence. Everything from reviewing standards and resetting them, to a back-to-basics approach by identifying core competencies.
