The Network for Innovation offers a diverse range of high-quality workforce development for Centre of Excellence members with a central focus on convening industry, education, and global networks, to inform and meet current and future education and workforce development needs.  To benefit from the WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence programme, institutions must enrol to gain free membership.

Online Forums and Network Events

Members can attend a programme of online forums exploring topical issues affecting further and higher technical education providers and have the opportunity to discuss leading research by WorldSkills UK and partners with sector colleagues and technical experts, international partners and key stakeholders, sharing valuable insights, personal experiences and effective practices, to gain insight and inspiration. 

Technical Leadership Learning Visits

In collaboration with education providers, we offer one-day immersive learning visits across the UK.  These visits provide an opportunity to explore effective teaching practices and strategies implemented in various institutions. 

 Hosting organisations will share their approaches and  insights to raising standards and improving the quality of education by embedding WorldSkills UK practices into teaching, learning and assessment to motivate their workforce and inspire learning and achievement by making world-class skills development accessible to all and supporting the success of every learner. 

Technical Leadership Professional Exchanges

In collaboration with education and industry partners professional exchanges provide opportunities for members to work closely with technical experts, industry, employer partners and key stakeholders, to explore the constantly evolving UK further and higher technical education landscape, resulting from technological advancements that are shaping working practices, learning and life. The importance of people and place are considered, and how LMI, and effective partnership working, can inform curriculum planning, design and delivery to raise standards, champion future skills and meet the needs of our world-class skills economy.

Skill Innovation Project Funding

We are supporting Centre of Excellence members with investment to enable active experimentation with new and innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment to include international insights, national and international benchmarking and standardisation, to raise standards, drive quality improvement, and develop further and higher technical teaching and training excellence.

Technical Leadership Learning Visit - Hull College

 

 

The video above shares highlights from the WorldSkills UK Technical Leadership Learning Visit hosted at Hull College. A fantastic CPD day, with rich takeaways, for technical leaders throughout the UK’s Four Nations.  

The visits are one-day immersive experiences, where colleagues can gather insights, share experiences and resources,  and discuss challenges and opportunities to support raising standards, innovation, and growth. 

The hosting organisation, as a Centre of Excellence member, on this occasion, Hull College, share how they have accessed and worked effectively to embed WorldSkills UK methodologies and approaches, to support raising of standards and the development of skills excellence. This video amplifies the message that Hull College share – Context is a challenge, and not an excuse!
