Jewellers make jewellery to a specific design using a variety of materials, including gold, silver and precious stones. Those looking to become a jeweller design and plan pieces that can have great sentimental significance or symbolic  meaning which can be wearable or are decorative artefacts in their own right. They would need to source gemstones, precious metals and other parts to make jewellery.

The individual will need to have excellent skills in customer service, the ability to be creative and come up with new ways of doing things. They will need to discuss a design with their client, produce designs and mass produce. They would need to work well with their hands by cutting, polishing and setting gemstones or other materials.
