A Joiner works with timber to construct doors, windows, fitted furniture and other permanent fixtures within buildings. Those looking to become a joiner will often prepare items in a workshop before going to the site to install the completed items. They will need to discuss plans and follow instructions. Have the ability to cut and shape timber for floorboards, doors, skirting boards and window frames.

The individual will need excellent skills in constructing stage sets for theatre, film and tv productions. They should be able to work well with others and on your own, pay attention to detail and have the ability to repair and maintain machines and tools. Our Joinery competition is the perfect environment to test these critical skills.
