Meet Team UK

At EuroSkills Graz they will compete in a broad spectrum of disciplines ranging from construction to creative. Ahead of competing in Austria, they will undergo months of intensive training to raise their standards to elite international level, under the guidance of our Training Managers. We'll be sharing one biography a day of our amazing Team UK.

Abigail Stansfield

Abigail first heard about WorldSkills UK Competitions by helping out at a stand BAE had at the National Finals held at WorldSkills UK LIVE.

Hannah Beckley

Hannah competed in 2019 in the WorldSkills UK National Finals held at the NEC Birmingham and watched by thousands of spectators. She feels that competing has taught her a lot and not just technical skills.

Lewis always had a passion for STEM subjects at school, which led to him doing a HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Applied Science at New College Lanarkshire, before going on to study for a Chemistry degree.

Phoebe McLavy

Phoebe first heard about WorldSkills UK Competitions at college when her tutor recommended she enter the Hairdressing competition. It proved to be the right decision as she went on to win the Bronze Medal at the National Finals in 2017 at the NEC Birmingham.

Sam Everton

Sam from Cilgerran in Pembrokeshire, Wales, was first inspired to take up cooking after he worked washing dishes at a local hotel and the chefs inspired him to give it a go. He then went on to study the skill at Pembrokeshire College.
