Producers are responsible for overseeing every single stage of a television programme, film, video or media production.

They work alongside the director and other creative departments including camera, sound, set design and post-production to ensure the idea is completed successfully, on time and to budget.

Producers are responsible for overseeing every single stage of a television programme, film or video.  They work alongside the director and other creative departments including camera, sound, set design and post-production to ensure the idea is completed successfully, on time and to budget.

Entry criteria

  • This is a team competition, for 3 to 4 competitors competing as a team
  • A maximum of 2 teams per organisation
  • Competitors must be familiar with the core competences (these can be found in the Tools section below) and must be working towards or have achieved the equivalent of Level 3 qualification with 2 years' experience of this skill in education, training or employment.

Steps to taking part in this skills competition

  1. Register to enter this competition by 5 April 2019.
  2. Competitors are requested to submit an entry for initial assessment, further information coming soon.
  3. Competitors will be invited to a National Qualifier during Spring/Summer 2019, further details will be released in the New Year.
  4. WorldSkills UK quality assure the results and finalists will be notified by September 2019.
  5. Finalists will participate in the UK National Final at the NEC in November 2019 as part of WorldSkills UK Live.
