WorldSkills UK is proud to announce that the British Gypsum Technical Academy has been appointed as the training partner for Squad and Team UK for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 in Plastering and Drywall Systems.
David Kehoe, National Training and Technical Representative at British Gypsum, has been appointed as the WorldSkills UK Expert. He will be responsible for training Harrison Moy, an apprentice who trained with British Gypsum, and who is now part of Squad UK.
Commenting on his appointment, David said: “Helping students and apprentices to be the best they can be in their given trade is so important to constructing a skilled future workforce.
“Competitions like WorldSkills are a fantastic way of helping young professionals build their confidence and lay a solid foundation for their future career progression. My new role will increase our involvement in this great initiative.”
Training will take place in British Gypsum’s network of purpose built Technical Academies around the UK. Ahead of the selection for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, Harrison will represent the UK in Plastering and Drywall Systems at EuroSkills Gothenburg 2016 which takes place from 1 to 3 December.
