Voting is now open for Women In Meat Industry Awards, with finalists including Katy Godsell, Marketing Manager at Cambrian Training and WorldSkills UK Butchery Competition organiser and Codie-Jo Carr, 2019 Butchery Competition Finalist.
The Women In Meat Industry Awards are designed to recognise the vitally important contributions that women make to the meat sector. This unique awards initiative is driven by reader nominations and votes, with an expert judging panel gathering to select the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year recipient.
Katy has been nominated in the Training and Education category and Codie-Jo has been nominated for the Rising Star Award.
Speaking about the WorldSkills UK Butchery Competition, Katy said:
“It has been an honour and a pleasure to work with many great people and young butchers within the industry on the Butchery WorldSkills UK Competition. The project has been challenging but very rewarding to design briefs and tasks within the competition that test the next generation of butchers to raise their skills, knowledge and standards within the industry.
“Especially watching our competitors grow and benefit from their involvement with the skills competition has been a pure joy over the last five years. The competition has helped to raise awareness as butchery as a craft skill all over the UK which is something that I am very proud we have managed to achieve.”
The voting deadline is Friday 28 August.
