In total, more than 470 students will compete in 63 competitions across the UK to be crowned a national skills champion.
The finalists will compete for gold, silver and bronze in finals taking place in all four UK countries from 10-19 November. The winners will be crowned at a ceremony hosted by TV presenter Steph McGovern from her Packed Lunch studio on Friday 26 November.
Following a year without competitions, over 3,000 people registered to take part in the UK-wide competitions back in March this year.
Foundation Skills Competitions are designed for students who have a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or disabilities. The 10 specially designed competitions allow students to showcase skills, knowledge and behaviours that highlight their independence and employability skills.
We are delighted to now have the full finalists line up ahead of next month’s competitions. We are really excited to be taking the show on the road this year with finals hosted by colleges, training providers and employers across the UK.
The range of competitions within the Foundation Skills portfolio helps students develop their skills in vocational areas, as well as developing their soft and employability skills. The organisations that take part in these competitions benefit from alternative assessment methods, as well as resources to help learners develop.
