WorldSkills UK hosted an exciting benchmarking event, the Cyber Hackathon, which brought together talented learners from various colleges across the UK to demonstrate their skills in cybersecurity. The event took place from 9-12 December 2024 and was supported by our WorldSkills UK Training Manager for Cyber Security, Sureshkumar Kamadchisundaram, and Root-Me.
A total of 136 remarkable teams took part in this immersive experience, competing in teams of two for six hours in a Capture the Flag (CTF) activity. Throughout this hands-on experience, learners faced a range of increasingly difficult challenges, with the goal of capturing the most flags and securing the top position on the leaderboard. The event provided valuable industry experience, enhancing their readiness for employment and/or higher-level competitions.

The WorldSkills UK Cyber Hackathon highlights the importance of skill development in the digital sector while fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation among the next generation of learners.
