Find your shining stars

WorldSkills UK Competitions bring together students and apprentices from around the UK to compete to be the best in their chosen skill, first in national competitions and then as part of Team UK in international skills competition, for those competitions that lead to International competition. Skills competitions provide employers, educators and training providers with a proven method of upskilling and developing young people from all backgrounds and all abilities.

Key steps to taking part in WorldSkills UK Competitions

WorldSkills UK provides a suite of resources to enable you to run competition activity and benchmark your learners as part of your teaching and learning programme.

To take part in WorldSkills UK Competitions, apprentices and students must be supported by their college, training provider or employer. To receive updates ahead of registrations, you can register your interest here: National Competitions 2025 – Register your interest – WorldSkills UK. Registrations open on Monday 3 March and close on Friday 28 March.

Please register on our Learning Lab to access on-demand teaching tools and live benchmarking assets which will help you introduce steps to build levels of competence through project-based learning and pressure testing within your organisation. This is a great way to prepare your learners to take part in competitions, by developing their technical and mental skills so they can compete at their best.

If your learners have made it through the entry stage to the National Qualifiers, they will be competing any time between April and June. To ensure you continue to receive regular updates throughout the competition cycle, please ensure that your competitors’ and your Point of Contact’s details are up to date and advise us of any changes.

We will verify the results of all the competitions and in July, we will announce  the highest performers from the National Qualifiers to compete in the live UK National Finals in November. This year the National Finals will be held in South Wales, week commencing 24 November 2025.

We will recognise the achievements of participants in our competitions by awarding digital badges highlighting the skills they have developed. At our prestigious awards ceremony, held at the end of the National Finals, we will celebrate the achievements of all finalists with medals being awarded to the highest achievers.
