“We have, this morning, been informed by WorldSkills Europe and the board of EuroSkills Graz 2020 that due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in Europe, the very difficult decision has been taken to postpone EuroSkills Graz 2020 indefinitely.
“We are saddened by this decision, but we fully understand it. We had been working closely with our colleagues in Graz to develop a comprehensive Covid-19 prevention concept but without being able to guarantee the safety of all delegates it is not viable to hold an event at this time.
“I wanted to thank all of our Team UK members and training staff who have been working tirelessly to prepare for this competition. I share their disappointment, but our training with them will continue as we look ahead to WorldSkills Shanghai and our continued participation in international competitions, which play a vital role in helping mainstream excellence into the UK’s skills systems.”
