Britain’s best hairdresser, Charlotte Lloyd is more than just a cut above the rest – she’s a full head and shoulders.

The 21-year-old apprentice who works at Reds Hair Company, Ross on Wye, has been selected for Team UK to represent her country at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, known as the ‘Skills Olympics’ in France in September (10-15).

This stunning success is the culmination of three years of regional, national and international competition and more than a thousand hours of additional training.

“I have missed out on lots of holidays, festivals and parties, and maybe I get teased for being a bit nerdy – but hey who cares when you are building on such success!”, said Charlotte.

Charlotte is no stranger to international competition and challenges of working at the height of her profession having won a bronze medal at last year’s European finals in Gdansk, Poland.

“I thrive on pressure, it brings out the very best in me”, said Charlotte. “The Euroskills Finals was the best week of my life, and I just can’t wait to be back in that cauldron and do it all over again.

“I want to see how well I can compete against the very best in the World.

“Competition has made me far sharper technically. I could barely hold a pair of scissors properly when I started. Now I am mastering techniques that I could only have dreamed of.  The clients love it!”
